Asbestos Removal
B&W are able to test all building materials for the presence of asbestos and qualified to carry out disposal of hazardous materials.
Asbestos can be found in buildings erected or redecorated as recently as the early 2000's, so it is worth testing any material you are uncertain of before it is removed.
You should not attempt to remove and dispose of asbestos yourself, because the dust created can be harmful to your lungs.
The most harmful variety, brown asbestos, is found in guttering and roofing materials. This type of asbestos poses the greatest hazard to your respiratory system, if the material is broken apart. Asbestos can also be found in Artex ceilings, loft insulation among others.
B&W Asbestos removal services include:
- Testing materials
- Surveys
- Licensed and non-licensed removal
- Waste disposal
Testing for asbestos
If you plan to remove building material from a property that you think might contain asbestos, have the material tested first to find out for sure. We send a small sample for laboratory testing to check if asbestos is present and asses the risk in disturbing the material as it is removed. The process normally takes no longer than 36 hours.
Removing asbestos from your property
B&W complete a risk assessment prior to removing asbestos to ensure that we maintain the highest possible safety standards. We seal off and throughly ventilate the surrounding area before breaking up the material and dispose of it in skips that are purpose-build for holding hazardous materials. Your safety is of paramount importance at all times.
